All the advice books and doctors say I should be keeping a log of my pregnancy journey, that I will want to remember this time. Um, maybe not the entire pregnancy. The first two trimesters I felt horrible; I was sick the entire time. And if I wasn't throwing up or falling asleep in the middle of lunch, I was crying uncontrollably because someone cut me off in traffic, or because there were onions on my burger when I had asked for no onions, or because I met the cutest little puppy dog, or because Bo brought me home my favorite ice cream as a surprise, or because my friend's 2-year-old was happy to see me... UGH HORMONES!!! LOL. They say the third trimester is harder than the second, but now that I feel like myself in the personality department, I hardly notice the fat feet, back aches, and ridiculous weight gain. The third trimester RULES. Plus everyone is extra nice to a mego-preggo lady ;) I'm due Feb 27 or Mar 2, depending on which doctor you listen to, so the date is coming up fast. I think the little guy is going to be early, though. The way he moves around, it feels like he really wants out! I can't wait to meet him... but then again I think I want to be pregnant for a while longer because I'm feeling so good right now!

We got some great gifts for Ezra from the baby shower. Ezra got a handmade owl quilt, stuffed animals, and wall hanging, an awesome video baby monitor, homemade super soft washcloths, a baby tent, overalls, hooded towels, diapers, onesies, a bear/Ewok suit, a snow suit, socks, bath toys, a humidifier, gift cards... the list goes on and on! We are very grateful to our friends and family in their support of our growing family.

Note to Ezra:
I think your'e going to be a popular little baby. I am excited to see how you handle all the attention. Are you a shy baby, or are you a big flirt? Either way, you are going to be loved; you already are! It looks like I get my wish; the doctor has ordered a final sonogram to check your size and position. That means Pops and I get to see you before you get here!

Gotcha!! (finally, a decent belly bounce video that almost compares to what I see before I get the camera out)

I'm in a silly mood today. Because of this I have to share some of my ridiculous humor with the blog. I hope everyone understands.

Fits of giggles are well-deserved on Friday afternoons!!

On a more serious note, the baby shower is coming up this Sunday. I'm really excited about it. My mom, sister, and I have spent lots of time planning the event, and I really hope everyone has a good time, especially my stressed-out mom. I will be helping with decorations tomorrow while watching the 49ers kick some New Orleans' Saints butt (go red and gold).

Note to Ezra:
You're getting bigger, and I just have to call you Baby Beluga because you are an active baby bouncing around my belly. Some friends have seen you moving around, and they usually say the movement reminds them of a chestburster from the movie "Alien" (I may show you the clip, when you're old enough). I'm pretty sleepy today; hopefully you and I get some quality sleep tonight because the next two days are going to be busy!

So a friend sent this video to me today, and I literally lost my cool at work and snorted in a fit of giggles for the length of the video. Please, enjoy!

Note to Ezra:
Mommy and Pops don't want you to have a favorite, we swear!

I've been fighting with my doctor over the possibility of having gestational diabetes. Most of the information I found lists a blood glucose level of greater-than or equal-to 140 for the one-hour, 50mL glucose test as the cutoff for taking measures to prevent full-blown gestational diabetes. What were my test results? 140 on the nose (I would like to see that in writing, however). They want me to spend ungodly amounts of money visiting the nutritionists and buying glucose test strips and monitors, all of which are not covered by health insurance. Now, if I knew nothing of diabetes, the fear of developing the disease would be enough for me to do whatever the doctor says.

However, I was raised by type-1 diabetes. Let me repeat: I was RAISED by type-1 diabetes. At avery early age I had a vast understanding of the pancreas, the affect carbohydrates have on "blood sugar" levels, needles, vials of insulin, and constant finger pricks for sampling glucose levels in the blood. I know that even 100%, fresh-squeezed-this-very-moment fruit juice is just as bad as eating cookies or chocolate. I know that carbs from fresh vegetables, especially those lower on the glycemic index, are the best carbs for a diabetic to control blood glucose levels. I know that walking is the fastest and best way to reduce blood sugar. What can a nutritionist teach me that I do not already know while making me not able to pay for diapers after our discussion? Not a whole lot.

Note to Ezra:
You were dancing for about 30 minutes straight before I caught this action on video (I think the stripes help expose your wiggles, so please don't judge me for wearing this shirt so often). When I'm frustrated like I am today, I watch these videos and feel much better. Thanks, baby.
